GULF SOUTH COUNCIL
of the Institute of Management Accountants

Certification Committee [CMA/CFM]

Institute of Certified Management Accountants:   The Institute of Management Accountants (IMA) is dedicated to excellence within the management accounting and financial management professions. One of IMA's most valuable member benefits is its sponsorship of the CMA and CFM programs.  These programs are administered by the ICMA.

Certified Management Accountant:  The Certified Management Accountant (CMA) designation was developed by the ICMA in 1972 to provide an objective measure of the individual's knowledge and competence in the field of management accounting. Only the CMA program recognizes the unique proficiencies required for success in this challenging profession.

Certified in Financial Management: The CFM recognizes the unique skills, experience, and knowledge of the financial management professional. The ICMA has created the CFM Program to provide an objective measure of an individual's knowledge and competence in this field.

Gulf South Council:  Professional Certifications Committee:  This committee is responsible for all Council activities related to the CMA program including, but not limited to, promotion and maintenance of information about review programs in respect to the CMA.  The committee reports to the Council Second Vice President.
